Daryl and Judy,
I just wanted to thanks you so very much for a wonderful experience!!!! It is so very rare to deal with such nice people who put the customer first.
I thought I’d write to you so that you could place my testimonial on your web site.
After watching Daryl’s very informative videos on YOUTUBE, I ordered 2 Trangia Swedish cook kits, 2 pot grippers and 2 simmer rings on the 17th of September, 2009 (Thursday) after a very pleasant conversation with him on the telephone.
After tracking my package I was very happy to see a UPS scheduled delivery of Tuesday September 22, 2009. Well to make a long story short, UPS delivered my package on Monday the 21st.
After researching UPS tracking, it was shown that my package was delivered at my front door. The problem was it was not there. I contacted Daryl at Campacopia so that he could initiate a UPS investigation on the whereabouts of my package.
It turned out that UPS had delivered to the wrong address several houses down the street even though they had the correct address. I finally received my order on Friday the 25th.
During the entire week, Daryl had contacted me several times keeping me informed and checking on the delivery status. This incredible customer service is so lacking in this day and age. UPS was not even concerned about their own mix up.
I would like to thank Campacopia (Daryl and Judy) for everything. I am extremely happy with the products I received and with your business. I would highly recommend doing business with Campacopia and hope do business with them again.

Hello. When I purchased this cook set from you, you asked that I submit a review of the product. I have used this mess kit several times since, so I feel the following is an impartial review from someone who has actually fielded it. I see that you presently do not have a link on your website for customers to review your products, otherwise I would have posted it there. Please do what you like with the following short review but kindly keep my identity anonymous. Sincerely, ** ****
This is a review for the Swedish Army Cook Set. My experience with the cook set comes via living with one as a mountain biker. I do what you might call backcountry touring or bike camping. It is similiar to backpacking as I carry similiar equipment to a hiker (ie. water filter, hammock shelter, etc.), the only difference is that my mode of transportation allows me to range further and faster than someone on foot. This allows for certain unique advantages. For instance, water resupply is generally not a problem so long as a lake or stream is 10 to 15 miles away, as I can cover this distance in a short time. For this reason I never carry while on the move more than 4 quarts of water on my person. I supplement my diet in the forest with fresh caught fish, generally panfish and the occasional bass.
The Swedish cook set. This set-up, aside from being the best value out there, is for people who enjoy eating in the outdoors. Often times ultra light hikers will choose a cook set based on minimalism, with weight and size being foremost and user comfort almost as an afterthought. If you are of this mindset then look elsewhere. However, if like me the thought of having to "rough it" outdoors in the food department with fare that is both bland and barely edible evokes a feeling that you would rather not be camping, than you will not do much better than the Swedish Army kit.
The greatest advantage of this cookset is the size and shape. Joining the two pans together makes for an interior that is cavernous and tall. I am able to fit a complete camp kitchen inside of it. I start with the main cooking pot into which goes a small flexible cutting board which is bent to adhere to the side or wall of the pot, and an 8" x 6" ditty sack. The cutting board is useful for dressing fish but most hikers can do without this item. Anyhow, into the stuff sack goes:
Svea stove (included with kit)
Trangia Simmer ring
Trangia Pot holder
Bic lighter
Colonial "Sport Pal" (fork, knife, spoon and can opener)
Spatula
Olive oil (roughly 1/2 pint)
Backpacker's pepper mill
Backpacker's spice rack (6 compartments, 3 salt, 1 each cayenne, parsley, curry)
I carry the fuel bottle (included with kit) separate because I want to avoid the possiblity of leaking alcohol into my cooking pot.
I want to stress here that the unique shape of the cook kit allows for an extrodinary amount of gear to be carried inside of it. Look at the items I have listed above and compare it with other cook sets out there. I think you will find that, although the Swedish Army kit is not the lightest, you will be hard pressed to find another cook set which carries all of these items packed so compactly and neatly into one unit.
With this cook set I was able at times to produce near gourmet meals outdoors consisting of wild rice and fresh caught pan seared bass filet. The aluminum version of the mess kit sold on campacopia.com is about 1 pound lighter than the steel version, so it is definitely the one you want to carry. I have found the aluminum to be quite strong, but will bend if subjected to a sharp blow. I suppose this can be said of just about any cook set. The aluminum can easily be bent back into shape again in the worst case scenario and should remain completely functional. It may bend, dent, or deform, but I do not see how it could ever break outright, and so should provide a lifetime of service and you will never be stranded without a cooking pot on your adventure. In short, I highly recommend this cook set. I am considering buying another just to keep so that in years to come I will have a replacement when the one I am using now shows signs of hard use. Undoubtedly I will find that, 10 years down the road, my cook set will look battered and scarred but will perform and still cook as well as it did when new.

Body: Mr. Tumbleson of Campacopia actually called me concerning my orders from him. There was no reason to do so as there were no problems with the orders. And he always promptly responded to my emails. It is just his idea of good customer service. I call it "old school" customer service. I have placed two orders with him. I could get the items he sells from other vendors. But his personal style of customer service and prices will keep my business. Thank you Mr. Tumbleson. Keith
